Welcome to the 2024 RSEA Annual Membership Meeting!
We are pleased to announce that our annual membership meeting will be held both online/virtual and in-person this year. The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, September 26, and I’m pleased to announce it will be originating from a new venue we’ve found in “the heart of South Austin” -- the South Austin Recreation Center.
To maximize our attendance, we encourage a strong virtual presence from our members online across Texas with a limited in-person capacity, maximum 100 attendees, in the recreation center’s “old-school,” historic gymnasium at 1100 Cumberland Road just 4 miles south of the State Capitol.
Please note that this year, to save money and shorten the overall meeting time, while also promoting healthy nutrition, we will forego our traditional barbeque lunch.
This year’s conference theme is “Honoring the Legacy of Public Service through a Secure Retirement.”
This theme is part of our continuing message that public service in any field is a high calling and a secure retirement is a reasonable expectation worthy of a State Government career.
Please join us, one and all, on September 26, wherever you are. That’s not far off from now as is January 2025. We’ll share our ideas for promoting retiree benefit enhancements at the 89th Texas Legislature.
