Pick a Shift!
Mandatory Orientation is Thursday, May 9, 2024, @ 8:30am (except for 2-Sr. Center Volunteers, theirs is at 9:30am.) During orientation, volunteers will check-in, initial USDA Forms, will be assigned to the various areas below to receive instruction:
Station A & C Description: Station A (walk-up clients check-in and food distribution) and Station C (drive-thru clients check-in). After program, Station A & C volunteers will help tear down or clean-up area. On-the-job training is involved using scanner and other instructions. Let us know if you're a bilingual. 8:30am-12:30pm. Outdoor Activity.
Station B Description: Volunteers will place food into trunks of cars while clients wait in their cars. Involves team-work and periods of standing, bending, walking and lifting approximately 5lb food boxes. Volunteers may help pack fresh produce or frozen meat into plastic bags for easier distribution.
Let us know if you're a bilingual. 8:30am-12:30pm. Outdoor Activity.
Sr. Nutrition Center Description: Volunteers needed primarily to help scan food cards and greet Seniors, during check-in at the Sr. Nutrition Center. May include: cleaning windows or other tasks as needed. 9:30am-1:10pm. Indoor Activity.
Emmanuel House Kitchen & Shelter Helper Description: Volunteers will help with various kitchen activity that include one or more of the following: pack meals into containers & seal shut; cut veggies & other food prep; sort, organize and move food items, to appropriate areas; clean in and around kitchen or house area, as well as other tasks as needed. Outside: yardwork, sweep areas or other helps as needed. 8:30am-12:30pm. Indoor & Outdoor Activity.
Required:
1. Registered online using Keller Williams link.
2. Megan's National Registry Clearance Check.
3. Mandatory in-person group orientation. starts promptly at 8:30am...with one exception (see #4).
4. Mandatory in-person group orienation: 2-volunteers helping at Sr. Nutrition Center, is at 9:30am.
5. 2-Volunteers helping at Sr. Nutrition Center, must sign a Vacinnation Attestation Form.
6. All Volunteers will need to initial USDA Civil Rights Training Form.
7. Volunteers must be cleared prior to participation. No Walk-Ins or substitutions are permitted.
8. If you are sick or have fever, please do not participate.
Appropriate Attire: Mandatory closed-toe shoes, no sandals, flipflops, heels or open-toe shoes allowed. Hair nets and plastic gloves are provided. Shirts should be short or long sleeve shirts, (not spaghetti straps, mid-riff showing, sleeveless, tank top type shirts). Shorts/skirts/dresses must be longer in length for bending, reaching and lifting.
Volunteers are no longer required to wear face masks.
