About this Event
The Queensland Mental Health Week Achievement Awards are an important part of Queensland Mental Health Week to recognise and celebrate the achievements of individuals, groups and organisations working to reduce stigma and empower those living with mental illness. Open Minds has proudly hosted the Awards since 1996. There are 11 award categories, and there are 3 finalists in most categories. The category winners will be announced during the breakfast ceremony and they will receive $500 plus an engraved trophy and framed certificate.
The overall winner across all categories receives the Earle Duus overarching award, which includes a $4,000 cash prize to continue their work in the mental health sector.

- Jeff Cheverton Individual Award
- Jude Bugeja Lived Experience Excellence Award
- LGBTQIA+ Award
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples Award
- Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) Award
- Not-For-Profit Organisation Award – SME (1-100 Staff)
- Not-For-Profit Organisation Award – Large (101+ Staff)
- Workplace Award - Community Wellbeing
- Workplace Award - Employee Wellbeing
The Awards event will start at 7:30am and run until 10:30am. It is a seated breakfast and ticket allocations are essential - tickets cannot be purchased on the door.
