In an effort to change things up, Plover Fire Department will be holding a Fire Prevention “Parade” on Thursday, October 10th from 6:00-8:30pm within the St. Bronislava Parish parking lot. This event will be held (rain or shine) during Fire Prevention Week IN LIEU OF our annual Open House.Unlike a traditional parade, fire trucks and emergency vehicles will be parked throughout the parking lot while attendees remain inside their own personal vehicles and drive through slowly, viewing things along the way.
Apparatus will be lit up while firefighters, EMTs and department staff display large, bright signs with various fire safety messages. Sparky will greet children in each vehicle at the end and give them a small treat bag, while supplies last.
A specific route has been mapped out for the parade. In order to ensure safety of all those involved and efficient flow of traffic, the entrance AND exit of the parade will be directed West on Willow Drive behind St. Bronislava Parish (see map). There will be NO entry off of Hwy 54/Plover RD or Foremost RD. Due to After Care pick-up at the school, the parade will NOT begin any sooner than 6:00pm and will conclude promptly at 8:30pm.
We look forward to having everyone join us to learn fire safety tips in a fun, unique way!
