About this Event
About the Conference:
Our keynote for this year's conference is Janae Moss. Janae is a mother of seven, “Gigi” of four, co-owner of multiple businesses, family advocate, and community organizer. She co-founded Parents Driving Change, an organization that trains parents and community-based organizations to identify and share their voices and collaboratively work to create change. Janae is earning her PhD in Sport and Performance Psychology to research her belief that parenting is the longest, most high-stakes game of life, and parents need tools and training just like elite athletes to find joy and thrive on their parenting journey.
Break out sessions will focus on parent rights in special education, challenging behaviors, creating positive childhood experiences, supporting the mental health and substance abuse of parents, fatherhood, the dangers of social media, and many more! Parents will have the opportunity for networking and engaging in other group activities.
About Childcare: Group childcare will be provided on-site for children birth to 11 years and a youth track for those 12 to 17. Children will be divided into age appropriate groups with activities and fun. Each group will have a room leader to act as the point of contact for parents. Parents are welcome to communicate with the room leader, but should avoid interupting sessions. One-on-one care will not be provided. If your child requires one-to-one care, parents may wish to bring an attendant to spend the day with their child or make other arrangements.
