About this Event
Join People for Palmer Park's Unleashed Dog Park team for an afternoon of fun and enrichment for all dog owners and dogs (all dogs must be leashed for this event!). Don't have a dog? You can adopt one at the event!
WE NEED VOLUNTEERS!Can you help for a few hours (or all day?). Please sign up for a shift by clicking the red "Get Tickets" button!
Location: Outside the Palmer Park Community House & Splash Park, 990 Merrill Plaisance, Detroit 48203. Free parking.
Time: The event takes place from 10 am-3 pm, but we need volunteers who can help set up our tents, tables and displays at 8 am, staff our People for Palmer Park/Unleashed Dog Team tables (give away treats to the dogs!), and help with cleanup/breakdown at 3-4:30 pm.
There will be a low-cost doggie vaccine/health clinic, food, lots of doggie giveaways, and dog-oriented fun for all. Dogs must be leashed on a 5-ft or shorter leash and under the full control of an adult at all times. Workshops and demonstration will help you learn how to better care for your dog, or how to adopt a pet (you can adopt-a-dog at the event!). And for those who need vaccinations for their dogs.....
Low-cost Vaccinations for first 250 dogs!
Low-cost Vaccinations (DHLPP, Rabies) and Microchips from the Michigan Humane and partners will be provided for the first 250 dogs. Suggested donation is $30. but no one will be turned away. All clinics are first-come, first-served. Please bring your pet's records to the event.
Fair & Fun: We will give away gift bags so you can fill it with doggie treats for the first 500 dogs, and you can visit dog vendors who will add more items to your bags! Pick up a raffle ticket for great prizes. Plus workshops with to learn more about pet care and make a toy for your dog, food trucks, doggie ice cream, and more.

Requirements for the event: All dogs must be on a 5 ft. or shorter leash and under full control of an adult at all times. No aggressive dogs or dogs in heat. Read complete guidelines.
All dogs must be leashed at all times in Palmer Park. The only place where they may be unleashed is in the new Palmer Park Unleashed Dog Park located on Seven Mile Rd just west of the 12th Precinct Police Station.!
