Welcome to the 2nd Annual New Jersey Regional Abacus Bee! Join us for this one-of-a-kind academic competition where blind and low vision students showcase their math skills.How does it work? Participants complete several 20-30 minute contest rounds comprised of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and/or division calculation problems at their skill-based level.
Contestants are allowed to use mental math, finger math, the abacus, and/or manipulatives to solve the problems. No written calculations are allowed.
Who can participate? Blind and low vision students in 1st through 12th grades.
The Abacus Bee is a family-friendly event that will include a parent activity and a pop up Mountain Lakes Makerspace. Don't miss out on these fun and enriching activities!
