Our National Conference culminates in a performance of singers selected to participate in the OAKE National Honor Choirs. Accepted singers learn and memorize music at home with their teachers. The National Conference Choir Concerts are a beautiful expression of bringing singers from across the country to make music together. This year's venue: Orchestra Hall at Symphony Center!
Hotel and Travel
The official Conference hotel is Chicago’s Palmer House Hilton Hotel. Only 13 days after its grand opening, the Palmer House fell victim to the Great Chicago Fire. On November 8, 1873, the new Palmer House Hotel welcomed its first guests, marking the opening of what would become the nation’s longest continually operating hotel.
Chicago, on Lake Michigan in Illinois, is among the largest cities in the U.S. Famed for its bold architecture, it has a skyline punctuated by skyscrapers such as the iconic John Hancock Center, 1,451-ft. Willis Tower (formerly the Sears Tower) and the neo-Gothic Tribune Tower. The city is also renowned for its more than 60 museums, showcasing world-class art, culture, history, and more, including the Art Institute of Chicago with its noted Impressionist and Post-Impressionist works.
