The New Jersey Center for the Book, an affiliate of the Library of Congress, will attend the annual National Book Festival in Washington, D.C. Representatives include Wil Mara and Sharon Rawlins, the Center’s Chair and Vice Chair respectively. The NJCB will be located in the 'Roadmap to Reading' area of the festival along with the other Centers around the nation, representing the 50 states plus the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Guam, and Northern Marianas. One of our featured exhibits will be the two books we have chosen (one for kids and one for adults) to represent New Jersey in the ‘Great Reads from Great Places’ program: Wendy Mass’s ‘Lo & Behold,’ and Darnell L. Moore’s ‘No Ashes in the Fire: Coming of Age Black and Free in America.’
