Jerseys run pretty true to size. They are a tad bit bigger, but not big enough to size up. If you like tighter jerseys then size down.

Welcome to the 1st, and hopefully not the last, MSGA Women's Draft!
This women's draft will be held on Sunday August 11th, 2024

Entry fee into the draft is $75. This includes 1 custom player jersey, 1 headband that matches your team jersey and 1 raffle ticket that is entered into the prize pot.

  • You can enjoy add-ons to your player package such as: Homerun Derby, Additional Jerseys, and a "Packaged Deal" option where you and a friend can be drafted to the same team together.

Our mission is to make sure you have the greatest time playing the sport you love. We heard so many women in this sport talk about what is wrong and right with other drafts and we listened! We increased prize packages, added raffles, a homerun derby, 4 game guarantee with a 2 and out bracket play, evenly drafted teams and we added the option of playing in the draft with a friend! This draft is for all skill levels whether you're a major player or someone who hasn't played softball in years! We created this draft with women in mind and we hope that we checked off every box on your list to make one amazing softball draft!
Deadline to PAY & SIGN UP is Friday July 5th, NO EXCEPTIONS!
Coaches will meet at a designated place to do a snake style draft Monday July 8th, time is TBD. IF a coach cannot attend in person, we will do a group video chat.
We are on a very strict time frame as jersey orders will need to be turned in as soon as possible in order for Kaysie Lee Designs to have them ready to go for us by August 11th. The July 5th deadline is very FIRM and we will not be taking anymore jersey orders after this date.

  • What is a snake style draft? A snake style draft is where each coach is randomly assigned a number and based on what number they get is when it's their turn to choose a player. So for example say we have 10 coaches, we use a random number generator and we give the coaches a number 1-10. Who ever has #1 will choose a player for their team first and who ever has #10 will choose a player last. BUT, snake style means after #10 chooses a player, they get to choose a 2nd player (back to back) and then #9 chooses a player, then #8 chooses a player etc.. all the way back to #1. Then #1 will choose 2 players back to back and then back down the line. This process will continue until every player has been drafted.
  • What is the draft process? 1st Round of the draft coaches will choose the couples who paid to be drafted with a friend. Once those have been chosen the next round will be E-rec/E players, then D players, then C players, B players, A players, AA players and then finally Major players until every player is drafted. We believe by doing this, teams will be even with all kinds of ranked players. You should not see teams with 4 C chips and 1 team with no C chips. This will be as even as possible. No computers will draft players nor will we draft players to any teams. This will be coaches individually drafting players 100%.
  • Can you be drafted with a friend? Yes! Being drafted with a friend will have LIMITED SPOTS AVAILABLE. You must sign up and pay to reserve your spot for you and your friend. You will also receive a $10 discount for signing up as a couple! Once all spots are filled, the friend draft option will be closed.
  • Are there any specials going on for the draft? Yes! The first 10 people to sign up and pay for the draft will have a discounted entry fee of $65! ONLY if you sign up and pay will you be eligible for the $10 discount. ONLY 10 SPOTS ARE AVAILABLE FOR THIS DISCOUNT, FIRST COME FIRST SERVE. The first 30 people who sign up, will receive an extra raffle ticket in the prize pot.
  • Are there payment plans for the draft? Actually, yes there is. We know not everyone can afford $75 right on the spot. We are offering payment plans to secure your spot. You can send in specific payments each week or day as long as the $75 entry fee is PAID IN FULL by July 5th. If it is not paid in full by July 5th, your spot will be canceled and offered to a waiting list participant.
  • What about rain outs,cancellations and refunds? If for any reason the draft is cancelled due to weather or any other situations preventing the draft after July 5th, you will still receive your custom jersey and head band and you will receive a refund of the remaining amount. Once jerseys are put in production, this means the process of making them has already started and unfortunaturely we are not eligible for a refund. If the draft cancels before July 5th for any reason, we will be able to give everyone 100% full refund. When it comes to rainouts, we will try our hardest to make sure this draft happens. We will remake brackets and do what we can as long as mother nature cooperates with us. These fields are turfed so that helps a lot of the issues. Severe weather however is completely out of our control. Closer to the event we will talk about rainouts and what the options are. The goal is to play some ball!
    REFUND SCHEDULE:
  • If YOU cannot attend the event, you must request a refund by Friday June 28th, 2024 to receive a full refund.
  • If you request a refund AFTER June 28th, 2024 YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE A REFUND. NO EXCEPTIONS!! Things need to be paid for prior to the event and this is our deadline period to take care of those things. It is not cheap to run this event as we have to pay for the complex rental, umpires, sanctions, insurance, brackets, jerseys, balls and more.
  • Will there be a waiting list? What if someone drops after the deadlines and refund schedule? Yes there will be a waiting list. If someone drops after July 8th, we want to make sure the team they are on are covered. We will go to the waiting list and find a player that is comparable in positions and ranking. We will reach out to you if the waiting list opens up with more details.
  • Is there a Homerun Derby? Yes maam! We are having a Homerun Derby this day as well. You can bring your own pitcher and you will hit from 2nd base. This will be a First come, First Serve. You must pay for the Homerun Derby event in order to reserve your spot. Homerun Derby will take place at after pool play games and all games will be suspended and resume after derby. Cash prizes will be for the 1st and 2nd place winners based on how many girls we get to sign up. Anyone can sign up for this event! It will be $25 PER PERSON and will include a Homerun Derby Drifit shirt!
  • What bats are you allowing for this draft? You are allowed to use 220 and 240 stamped bats AS LONG AS THEY PASS AND ARE NOT PART OF THE BANNED LIST OF BATS.
  • What balls can we use? We will provide the women's balls on each field.
  • What sanction is this draft going to be? It will be modified USSSA rules (runner for pitcher + courtesy) and brackets will be updated online at www.usssa.com.
  • Can we purchase additional jerseys? Yes. Your $75 entry fee will include your own custom team jersey but if you wish to buy a jersey for your significant other, your child or maybe you like another team's jersey, you are able to purchase these items as well. The goal is to receive these extra jerseys the day of the draft. This option will be an add on to your player sign up.
  • Will there be Photographers on site? Yes. We are having photographers come to the draft to take pictures. They will offer packages for teams so please look out for posts made on the Women's Events & Connections group. We will also have an event photographer take pictures of all the teams together at homeplate and of the homerun derby. Any individual player photos must be discussed with the photographer.
  • What are prize packages for this draft? We are really excited about this! Packages really depend on how many women's teams we can form. We have prize package tiers and it's based on how many teams we can get. 16 teams is our cut off since this is a Sunday event, we want to make sure everyone gets home before midnight. We need at least 8 teams to hold the draft and be able to pay our prize packages as well as pay for all the fees to run the draft.
    Below are the following prize package tiers:

Tier 1: 8-9 teams
1st Place- 12 Rings, 1 MVP Plaque, 3 All Tourney Plaques
2nd Place- 12 Silver Medals, ODP Plaque, 2 All Tourney Plaques
3rd Place- 12 Bronze Medals, 1 All Tourney Plaque
Tier 2: 10-11 teams
1st Place- 12 Rings, 1 MVP Plaque, 3 All Tourney Plaques (teams choice of 12 batting gloves or 12 Champions dri fit shirts)
2nd Place- 12 Silver Medals, ODP Plaque, 2 All Tourney Plaques (Whatever 1st place didn't chose. If 1st place chose gloves then 2nd place will receive runner up shirts. If 1st chose shirts, then 2nd place has a choice of gloves or runner up shirts)
3rd Place- 12 Bronze Medals, 1 All Tourney Plaque (Whatever prize package is left. You will choose between batting gloves for Draft Finalist Dri Fit Shirts)
Tier 3: 12-14 teams
1st Place- 12 Rings, 1 MVP Plaque, 3 All Tourney Plaques (teams choice of 12 batting gloves or 12 Champions dri fit shirts)
2nd Place- 12 Silver Medals, ODP Plaque, 2 All Tourney Plaques (Whatever 1st place didn't chose. If 1st place chose gloves then 2nd place will receive runner up shirts. If 1st chose shirts, then 2nd place has a choice of gloves or runner up shirts)
3rd Place- 12 Bronze Medals, 1 All Tourney Plaque (Whatever prize package is left. You will choose between batting gloves for Draft Finalist Dri Fit Shirts)
1st Place Coaches Will Get $200 Cash and a Plaque
2nd Place Coaches Will Get $100 Cash and a Plaque

Tier 4: 16 teams
1st Place- 12 Rings, 1 MVP Plaque, 3 All Tourney Plaques (teams choice of 12 batting gloves or 12 Champions dri fit shirts)

3rd Place- 12 Bronze Medals, 1 All Tourney Plaque (Whatever prize package is left. You will choose between batting gloves for Draft Finalist Dri Fit Shirts)
1st Place Coaches Will Get $200 Cash and a Plaque
2nd Place Coaches Will Get $100 Cash and a Plaque
1st Place girl with the highest batting average will get a brand new in the wrapper bat
2nd Place ODP will get a brand new fielders glove

  • What are the raffle prizes? We will have 2 Buckets of Fireball, 2 Free Entrys for the next Draft, 3-$50 Concession Stand Gift-cards (can be used for food, drinks and/or alcohol) and a SWAG Bag full of goodies. If we get AT LEAST 12 teams, we might add on a Fielding Glove and a Bat! These raffles are for individual players. You receive raffle tickets with your draft entry fee. Other companies might donate something to our raffle as well.
  • What about concessions, bathrooms and playgrounds? Armco Park is equipped with 4 turfed fields, 1 concession stand and bathrooms located in the center of all 4 fields. It also has a very nice playground set up for children with a top net over the playground for safety of foul balls. SEE BELOW FOR PARK MAP AND PHOTOS.
  • Is there anywhere to sit and can we bring chairs? Yes and yes! There is seating at the top of the concession stand as well as bleachers around the fields. You are more than welcome to bring your own chairs.
  • Are dogs allowed at this facility? Pets must be leashed (6-foot or shorter) and under their owner’s control at all times. Owners must pick up their pet’s waste!
  • What about Music and Smoking? This is directly copied from the park rules of the Warren County Parks page:
    Smoking and vaping are prohibited within any enclosed park building.
    Possession and/or use of marijuana is prohibited on park property.
    Since the entire complex will be rented out, MUSIC is allowed.
    Please keep in mind this will be a family friendly event.
    Anyone who fails to comply with these Park Rules while on park property may be asked to leave by the Park Director or their designee; failure to do so constitutes trespass.
