This Mother's Day families are invited to the Houston Botanic Garden for the city's inaugural Mother’s Day Walk and wellness day for a cause. Scheduled for Sunday May 12 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. this event is designed to nurture meaningful moments for families while giving back to those in need.
The nearly 2-mile self-paced walk through the Garden features interactive inspiring altruistic and fun experiences to help families unwind bond and create special memories together in nature.
Highlights of the Mother’s Day Walk include:
- Interactive Activities to be discovered along the trail including planting music photo opportunities art projects dancing vendors and food trucks
- Complimentary Wellness and Biohacking treatments by Albi Wellness Center
- Practitioner-Assisted Stretch sessions by Stretch Zone Pearland
- Special Appearance and Obstacle Course by NBC’s American Ninja Warrior Trainer and Competitor Sam Sann who has designed a custom challenge for families to attempt
- Give Back Area to contribute to a community art mural featuring inspirational words of encouragement and advice for moms in crisis as well as bag decorating for food that will be delivered by Kids Meals Inc to Houston’s hungriest preschoolers.

- Onsite Donation Drive to gather supplies for the Salvation Army Family Residence Center and Kids Meals Inc.
- ZimSculpt Exhibition an award-winning international exhibition of unique stone sculptures created by Zimbabwean artists. Attendees can browse hundreds of semi-precious stone pieces view live sculpting demonstrations and shop at a marketplace of fine art.
- Reflection Areas Meditation & Movement and Conversation Prompts by Myra Johnson
- Discovery Zone for children including a card making station STEM-based water play story book reading and exploration areas.
NBC’s American Ninja Warrior TV Show Finalist and Trainer Sam Sann will make an appearance and coach families to work together to complete an obstacle course he has designed specifically for this event. “I can see how parenting – and especially motherhood – can feel like running an obstacle course” said Sann. “But you get through it and come out stronger on the other side if you refuse to give up and choose to tackle the challenges together. I see the course I’m bringing to the event as a fun way for families to put that spirit of teamwork and resolve to the test physically.”
For an additional fee – starting at $75 per adult and $35 for youth ages 4-17 -- families can upgrade to the VIP Experience to receive access to a climate-controlled tent – with lunch by Bollo drinks and hair styling and makeup by BloBar’s Memorial and Post Oak locations -- as well as a curated photo opportunity with a professional photographer. The first 100 moms to register in for the VIP Experience will also take home a swag bag filled with gifts and goodies. To receive the added perk of reserved parking adjacent to the Garden entrance VIP Experience tickets must be purchased in advance.
