2024 La Merienda
Join us on Saturday, June 1, 2024, from 11:15 am to 3 pm at the Memory Garden on Custom House Plaza for La Merienda, the City's oldest annual event. Hosted by the Monterey History & Art Association for the past 90 years, this community fiesta commemorates the 1770 founding of Monterey and the 1931 founding of MHAA.
Tickets: MHAA Members $100, Non-members $125 (from April 1, if available). Support MHAA's initiatives by purchasing tickets. MHAA is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization (Tax ID# 94-1517208). Tickets are available through the event website only,
Enjoy a BBQ buffet extravaganza by Old Fisherman's Grotto Chefs, including Certified Angus Beef, BBQ chicken, Italian sausage, salmon, paella, salads, corn, chili beans, cornbread, salsa, and a special surprise. Complimentary wine, beer, coffee, tea, and soft drinks included. The feast concludes with a birthday cake cutting ceremony using Colonel Fitch's historic sword.
Entertainment by Mike Marotta Jr., mariachis, folkorico dancers, and Master of Ceremonies David Marzetti. Dress in 18th-century costumes for this festive "Californio" party. Silent Auction also available.
