About this Event
The 10th annual Keweenaw Holiday Hoopla is a community holiday event that raises funds for local skilled trades scholarships. Our 2024 event, held at the Bonfire at the Continental Fire Co. in Houghton, will feature live music, festive drinks, hors d'oeuvres, cash bar and our silent auction to help raise funds for local skilled trades scholarships.
This event is hosted by Keweenaw Chamber of Commerce, Keweenaw Economic Development Alliance (KEDA), Keweenaw Young Professionals (KYP) and Copper Shores Community Health Foundation.
The Keweenaw Holiday Hoopla raises funds to support students who are looking to pursue a skilled trade after high school. In partnership with Copper Shores, this support ensures that one graduating senior from each of the high schools in Baraga, Houghton, Keweenaw, and Ontonagon counties, including the Horizons High School, has available $1,000 scholarships to pursue a certificate, one or two-year skilled trades program. Copper Shores has provision of the scholarships on an annual basis and KEDA has committed to continue to raise funds annually for the scholarship endowment that Copper Shores has established.
The annual silent auction is only possible because of the generously donated items, our school districts, and the Copper Country ISD (CCISD) CTE classes that have built items specifically to support this skilled trades auction. Without this support, we would not be able to make these scholarships available!
The 2024 silent auction will open online on Friday, Dec 6 at 12PM and will close in person on Thursday, Dec 12 at 8PM at the Bonfire. The online auction can be found !
We look forward to supporting local students with skilled trades scholarships during this festive, holiday fundraising event!
