About this Event
Please join us on Rice’s campus on Weds. May 8th for the 2024 JUNCTIONS (Japan-US Network for Clean energy Technologies Involving Oriented Nanotubes) workshop highlighting international research on the physics of low dimensional materials!
The free, one-day, in-person workshop will include invited technical presentations from internationally recognized researchers working on electronic, optical, and thermal properties of 1D and 2D materials. Speakers will discuss how their work provides a fundamental understanding of transport across the omnipresent junctions between low-dimensional materials, and will highlight opportunities for future international research and educational efforts with Japan-based faculty members.
International speakers include:
· Prof. Kazuhiro Yanagi, Tokyo Metropolitan University
· Prof. Ikufumi Katayama, Yokohama National University
· Prof. Motoaki Bamba, Yokohama National University
· Prof. Jiang Pu, Tokyo Institute of Technology
· Prof. Kazunari Matsuda, Kyoto University
· Prof. Yuhei Miyauchi, Kyoto University
Further information will follow regarding additional speakers and detailed agenda.
This workshop is supported by a Rice Creative Ventures Fund for Conference and Workshop Development and by the Carbon Hub. The Japan-US collaboration is supported by a National Science Foundation PIRE grant (award #2230727).
