It's that magical time of year again! Follies season!If you are planning to participate in the 2024 Holly Jolly Follies, you MUST attend the mandatory all-cast meeting and script read through on Monday, Nov. 4th at 6:30 PM at C.R.O.W.
This year’s show is entitled “Sweet Dreams: A North Pole Nutcracker” and is written and directed by Melanie Heard, musical directed by Maree Beers, and associate directed by Genevieve Shahan.
The show's theme is a unique spin on the beloved Nutcracker ballet, featuring comedy, variety acts, opportunities for the community to perform, and more. "This is NOT your grandma's Nutcracker," says Heard.
No audition is required to participate in the Ensemble of the Follies. The Ensemble sings group holiday songs, does small scenes, and has a few featured moments within the core script.

Most Ensemble members will perform as North Pole townspeople and guests at an upbeat Holiday party. Ensemble is required to obtain their own costuming.
IMPORTANT: Young children may NOT participate without an adult or older (teen) sibling in the cast. The Follies cast is huge and we are not able to supervise small kids, and therefore require direct parent involvement. Parents, even if you have never been onstage, this is your opportunity to have a great time with your kiddo! The Follies experience is focused on fun and is low stress and not a big rehearsal commitment. It is a beloved community annual tradition and if you ask around, you'll hear it over and over again - The Follies are a blast!
The mandatory all cast meeting will be held Monday, November 4 at 6:30 PM at CROW-3120 Hwy 101 in Florence.
A rehearsal schedule and participation general info will be available at the meeting. Rehearsals will be held M-Th evenings from 6:30-9:00 pm, and possibly a couple of Saturdays (TBA). There will be no rehearsals on Wednesday through Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend. Not all cast members will be required to attend all rehearsals. The schedule you will receive will break down your required days/times. We are very respectful of your time.
Tech week is Dec 2, 3, 4, & 5. Cast members must attend ALL evening rehearsals during tech week - usually 5 pm - 10 pm (ish). With special permission, you will be allowed to leave after your section of the show (ie- if you are only performing one variety act, we will not make you stay the whole time). We always try to release younger children early when possible.
Showtimes are Fri. Dec. 6th at 7 pm, Sat. Dec. 7th at 7 pm, and Sun Dec. 8th at 2 pm. 3 performances only!
