This event is held in honor of Haile L. Alford, the first African-American female judge in the State of Delaware.About this Event
Judge Alford was appointed by Governor Mike Castle in 1992 and served on the bench until her untimely death in 2003 at the age of 54.
This year’s keynote speaker for the Alford Memorial Breakfast will be Ashley S. Christopher, Esq., Special Assistant to City of Wilmington Mayor Michael S. Purzycki and Founder and President of the HBCU Week Foundation.
The MJL Section will honor recipients of the Leadership Award and Community Service Award. The MJL Section will also grant the 2022 Alford Excellence Award to future practitioners who will sit for the July 2022 Delaware Bar Examination.
