Applying to Attend the Girl Up USA Leadership Summit
Thank you for your interest in attending the Girl Up USA Leadership Summit in Los Angeles, CA! To join us, you’ll need to complete this Eventbrite form, which will serve as your application (If you will require financial aid to attend, please fill out form instead). Within a week of submitting the form, you will receive an email from Girl Up staff with a notification of your application status.
Please note that applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. If you do not receive a spot to attend the 2024 in-person USA Leadership Summit, or don’t live in the United States, don't worry! We will be hosting other regional events around the world in 2024, in addition to our virtual Girl Up Global Leadership Summit in October, which will be jam-packed with exciting speakers, workshops, and opportunities for you to connect with your fellow changemakers. About the Girl Up USA Leadership Summit
This will be the first-ever Girl Up USA Leadership Summit hosted in Los Angeles and will focus on promoting the balance of mental wellness, celebrating wins in gender equity, telling our stories of impact, and promoting further activism in our communities. Through leadership training, educational programming, and inspirational speakers, every youth leader present will know how to harness their power for change.
The Girl Up USA Leadership Summit is open to U.S. residents, particularly students ages 13-24, and will bring together more than 150 youth changemakers from around the U.S. The USA Leadership Summit promises to be an incredible two days of organizing and advocating for change at home and beyond!
Don’t miss the opportunity to convene with your fellow youth activists, exchange ideas in youth-and-expert-led workshops, and get inspired by an incredible line-up of speakers advancing the movement for global gender justice! After two days, you’ll leave with the knowledge, skills, and new friendships necessary to take your leadership skills to the next level and make meaningful social change.
The USA Leadership Summit will take place in person in Los Angeles, CA, and will include opportunities for engaging with attendees from across the United States. Please indicate in your registration if you would like accommodations for a disability.
What You Can Expect
Saturday's programming will feature keynotes and conversations with powerhouse leaders across the gender justice space and interactive workshops where you’ll learn how to further accelerate social change. On Sunday, join a hands-on Day of Action workshop of your choice and develop your leadership skills to build and lead a global and intersectional movement for gender justice.
You Should Apply If You…
- Are 13-24 years old and are passionate about gender justice
- Live or go to school in the United States
- Have been wanting to join Girl Up and become a part of the gender justice movement, but haven’t yet had a chance - now’s the time!
- Are a girl of any gender, or youth who identify as non-binary, genderqueer, gender fluid or expansive, agender, in transition, and/or are questioning your gender identity

How is Girl Up evaluating applications?
- We will be evaluating applications on a rolling basis and accepting participants in order to build a diverse group of attendees for this event, representing a wide range of geographies, identities, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
What is the cost to attend?
- There is a $120 fee to register and attend this event. The registration fee is due at the time of your application. If you are not accepted, you will receive a full refund. If you are requesting financial aid, please do not fill out this application and instead, apply using this link.
