Welcome to the City of Burlington's Tree Giveaway!
REGISTRATION OPENS WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 3rd, 2024 AT 9AM!
Participating in the City of Burlington’s Tree Giveaway is as easy as 1, 2, 3!
1. To ensure the long-term health of your new tree, please select a tree that suits your property's conditions and landscaping plans.
2. Book a corresponding time slot to arrive and have your tree loaded into your car for you.
3. Drive away and plant your new tree!
If your preferred tree - or any tree - is no longer available to register for online, you can try your luck and show up at 12 p.m. when we will be giving away any unclaimed trees while quantities last
Please pick up your tree at Roads, Parks and Forestry yard parking lot:
897 Cumberland Avenue, Burlington, ON, L7N 3J6
This giveaway is eligible to Burlington residents only. Trees are to be planted on private property ONLY. Trees planted on municipal lands have very strict requirements to ensure safety, any Giveaway planted on municipal lands and found to be in contravention of the city’s planting criteria will be removed.
The trees will be in 3-gallon pots with a height range of 40 – 200 cm. This size can be accomodated in most vehicles. Please prepare your vehicle for pick up by ensuring:
• Back seat is down
• Vehicle is ready for the tree to be loaded in by forestry staff. Please do not exit your vehicle to assist
• Please also remember to bring a tarp if you have one to help keep the tree and your vehicle protected.
The tree can ONLY be picked up on Saturday, September 21, 2024. No trees can be held for alternate pick up. If you miss your timeslot, you may be able to select from remaining available trees at noon, however quantities will be limited.
You must bring your registration confirmation and QR code either printed or electronically to pick up the tree. If you are picking up for someone else, please ensure you have their QR code or registration confirmation with you.
