You’re invited to the D-CAN Fall Caregivers' Conference
Struggling with the peaks and valleys of caring for a loved one living with dementia? Learn how to navigate the common (and not-so-common) challenges dementia caregivers face.
Join the event in person at The Regency Venue or virtually online through Zoom. The exhibitor hall will open at 8 a.m., and a variety of free health screenings will be available to those interested. The scheduled program will begin at 9 a.m. and end at 12:45 p.m. At 12:45 p.m., boxed lunches will be served. The exhibit hall will be open from 1 to 2 p.m., and a variety of free health screenings will be offered.
Who The Event is For
This event is for caregivers of all types: family caregivers, home health aides, hospice and palliative caregivers, nursing assistants, assisted living facility caregivers, adult day care facility caregivers, people living with dementia, people worried about dementia, medical professionals, social services, and dementia-related business workers.
Respite Available
We understand the struggles that caregivers can face, one of them may be finding programs, classes or activities that provide respite for their person living with dementia. When respite services are offered at caregiving events, it allows for more caregivers to participate, learn and engage. We are proud to provide respite care to those living with dementia, who may need a quiet place to get away, during our 2024 Fall Caregivers' Conference. What You Will Learn:
During the conference, attendees will learn:
- Understand common behaviors, why they happen and best communication practices to increase communication, and decrease behaviors.
- Stages of caregiving and anticipatory grief. What are the stages of caregiving, and how do we cope with anticipatory grief on the journey of being a dementia caregiver?
- What is respite? Dive into the topic of respite care, increase your knowledge, and gain practical advice and tips on how to involve different aspects of respite in your caregiving journey.
- Services available for those living with dementia and their caregivers

Registration Details
Registration is required for all attendees, whether you plan to attend in person or virtually. A boxed lunch is available for those attending in person. This event will be recorded, and a playback link will be provided about a month after the event.

Partial funding for this event is being provided by the Minnesota Board on Aging. Additional donations help support the services D-CAN provides to patients at our Dementia Resource Center in St. Cloud, MN. You can add a donation at the time of registration if desired.
