About this Event
About this event
On Sunday, November 24th, our team will be prepping Thanksgiving meals to be handed out to community members in Fontana, CA, on Wednesday, November 27th. We plan on serving over 1,200 meals to families in the Inland Empire, and we will need all the help we can get by opening canned veggies and shredding turkeys! This is a great opportunity to join the team at Project Boon and play an important role in our biggest event of the year!
**Please bring your own can opener if possible!**
Frequently Asked Questions
When should I arrive at the event? Please arrive 5 minutes before your scheduled shift time to park and make your way to the volunteer check-in.
What do I do when I arrive at the event? Volunteers will be asked to park in the Hitch Burger Parking Lot. Once you enter the restaurant, a team member will be ready to assign you a position, and then you'll be all set! We will be working in the restaurant patio, so please dress according to the weather that day.
What is the minimum age to volunteer? You must be at least 14 years of age, accompanied by an adult chaperone, to volunteer at Eat & Be Well. There are no exceptions to this rule.
Do I have to wear a mask? YES! All volunteers must wear a mask properly covering the nose and mouth for their entire volunteer shift. We will have disposable masks if you do not bring your own. This is especially important because we will be prepping meals.
Do I need to sign up to volunteer ahead of time? Yes. Time slots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. We will not add additional shifts once spots fill up.
Are there other ways I can support Eat & Be Well? Yes. We gladly accept canned foods, uncooked turkeys, or monetary donations. If you would like to make a financial donation, please visit www.projectboon.org
