Let's take over East Portal Park!
Have you ever dreamed of starting your day with dessert?
Now’s your chance! The East Sacramento Cookbook Club (ESCC) is excited to invite you to a deliciously fun community meetup inspired by the recent buzz around San Francisco's Cakechella. Imagine a park filled with tables of *homemade* sweet treats just waiting to be shared with friends and neighbors.
THE PLAN
*WHEN: Sunday, September 22, 2024 | 11:30am - 1pm
*WHERE: East Portal Park
*WHAT: A casual cake/cupcake-themed meetup where you BYOB (bring your own beverage) and bring a dessert to share! Whether it's your family favorite or first-time bake … sweet cakes (cupcakes, bundts, cake rolls, cheesecake) all are welcome! Including, gluten-free, egg/dairy-free, or any other version…
*WHY: Because cake + community = pure joy! Plus, it's a perfect way to meet wonderful neighbors and members of ESM and ESCC groups.
Please Note:
^This event is intended for adults only—an opportunity for us to connect and relax. Kindly make other arrangements for the kiddos and fur babies.
^All adults are welcome! Couples, friends, and individuals—please join us. We kindly ask that each attendee brings one cake/dozen cupcakes.
HOW IT WORKS
1) Bring a homemade cake or 1 dozen standard/24 mini cupcakes for sharing. Please label platters, servers, etc. Have fun- presentation counts! ;)
2) Register upon arrival - cake & ingredient labels will be provided
3) Set up your cake/cupcakes on one of our community tables - presentation really does count! :) (we eat with our eyes first)
4) 10-minute photo walk around the tables before service for photos
5) Bring your coffee/tea and enjoy a leisurely morning chatting, photo snapping, tasting, and making new friends.
6) Be sure to take a couple of any leftovers + any plates/servers you bring.
7) Be prepared to share recipes and possibly phone numbers of new neighbors and friends!
