About this Event
THIS TRAINING IS FOR BADGE NUMBERS 10008-11441
Welcome to your 2024 Drivers Training.
This year's training will be new to everyone in the department as we are conducting a brand-new lesson plan at a brand-new facility. This year's training will consist of several events:
- Pursuit scenarios
- Stop Stick Deployment
- PIT refresher
- Post PIT considerations
- Backing exercises
- Escape exercises
This block of training is scheduled for 8 hours. You will be using your own patrol vehicle for all events except PIT. You will need to ensure your vehicle is safe and in good working order with a FULL tank of fuel before coming to the track. If your vehicle is found to be unsafe, does not have a full tank of fuel, or does not pass the pre-track inspection, you will not be able to complete the training on that day. Leave your vehicle set up the way you use it during your everyday job assignments. This will allow you to judge if it is optimally setup, or help you determine if you need to reconfigure your setup. You will remove your flairs, fire extinguisher, and OC spray during your pre-track inspection. Do NOT come to the track with evidence in your vehicle. Also before you begin your pre-track inspection, you will downgrade all weapons, knifes, ammunition, and tasers into your trunk or TLO box.
The authorized uniform on the track is class B/C, your unit's authorized uniform that you wear during your shift, or a short/long sleeve shirt with BDU pants. You will need your duty belt (either high gloss or nylon) if you wear one in your daily assignment.
You will need a holster for your department-issued glock17 for this training.
Please bring with you:
- Plenty of water (minimum 1 gallon)
- Sunscreen
- Snacks
- Hat
- Duty Belt
