Join us to learn what the DVS Scholars have been working on in terms of research and public engagement during their time at the University at Buffalo in the 2023-24 academic year. They will also discuss observations of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging practices currently in higher education.
Doors will open at 9:00am, and a light contitnental breakfast will be served. The welcome will begin at 9:30am. At 9:45am, there will be an opening forum in which the DVS Scholars will discuss their research and public engagement throughout UB and Buffalo. Following lunch, there will be a talk given by 2023-24 DVS Scholar Rosy Simas and Dr. Sam Mitchell. The concluding forum will be a conversation on the state of diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives in higher education, and evaluating best practices in spaces where these initiatives are under attack. The day will conclude with a reception where snacks and light refreshments will be served.
