About this Event
Welcome to the first Stop the Bleed session of this Disaster Preparedness Day!
In October 2015, the American College Of Surgeons launched the Stop The Bleed campaign—a special national initiative designed to provide bystanders with the knowledge and skills needed to stop life threatening bleeding in a traumatically injured victim.
Similar to the use of CPR or automated defibrillators, improving public awareness about how to stop severe bleeding can be the difference between life and death for an injured person. This course is designed to train individuals on what to do as an immediate responder in a bleeding emergency and covers the ABCs of bleeding control. The course includes a class presentation followed by hands-on skills practice with direct pressure, wound packing, and tourniquet application.
Join us at the San Mateo County Event Center for a practical workshop led by experienced instructors. Don't miss this opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and confidence in helping others during critical moments. Sign up now and be prepared to Stop the Bleed!
Please RSVP to guarantee yourself a seat! Each ticket admits one (1) person.
Note: This class is meant to be informative and does not provide a certification. There is no age limit but some of the demonstration may be graphic for younger attendees.
