Join us for a spectacular three-day adventure at our Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing Youth Day Camp, where connection with nature, learning, and camaraderie are at the heart of our journey. Set in a serene outdoor environment, our schedule is meticulously crafted to offer a blend of educational activities, physical challenges, and heartwarming social interactions. Here's what you can expect each day:
Day 1 - Nature Connection: The adventure begins with a welcoming circle, setting the tone for a day of discovery and connection. Participants will engage in a hunt scavenger, putting their teamwork and problem-solving skills to the test. A session on tree identification follows, offering a chance to learn about local flora. The highlight of the day is canoeing, where calm waters and teamwork create a serene experience. The day wraps up with reflections on the shared adventures, preparing hearts and minds for the next day.
Day 2 - Nature Art: Day two focuses on creativity and craftsmanship. Starting again with a welcoming circle to share insights and set intentions, the day quickly moves to crafting bee plates, highlighting the importance of nature's pollinators. Puppet-making sessions bring out participants' storytelling abilities, followed by a storytelling circle that enriches the experience through shared narratives. The crafting of friendship bracelets symbolizes the new bonds formed, rounding off the day with a sense of community and shared achievement.
Day 3 - Adventure and Celebration: The final day is all about bringing the adventure to its peak and celebrating the connections and skills developed over the past days. The morning begins with a welcoming circle, where everyone gathers to prepare for the day’s challenges with excitement. Orienteering is the main event, testing participants' navigation skills through engaging outdoor activities. This day also offers another chance for a hunt scavenger, encouraging teamwork and strategic thinking in a fun setting. As the activities come to a close, the day ends with a special celebration, marking the culmination of an unforgettable journey filled with new friendships, skills, and a deepened connection to the natural world.
Whether you're looking to deepen your connection with nature, explore new skills, or make lasting friendships, the DDBHH event promises an unforgettable experience. We can't wait to welcome you to our community of adventurers and explorers!
