About this Event
Fun, food and friends at ConnecTra's Volunteer Appreciation and Community BBQ!

Join us on Sunday, August 11th, 2024, from 5:00 - 7:00 PM PT for a casual, inclusive and accessible summer barbecue! Socialize with others in the ConnecTra community, learn about upcoming events and opportunities from us and our affiliated charitable societies, and celebrate our societies' volunteers!

Hosted by the ConnecTra Society, this upcoming BBQ will take place in person at the Jericho Sailing Centre picnic area. We will set up tents for shade, and wheelchair-accessible tables will be available. We have an indoor room booked in case of rain.

Our staff will be grilling up burgers for community members. We will also have (non-alcoholic) drinks, snacks, and more! Please specify your dietary preferences when registering; vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options will be available by request.

This event is BY REGISTRATION ONLY. Spots are limited.

Tickets are free, but if you have the means to support our programs, please consider donating. We appreciate your support!

About the Disability Foundation: Established in 1985 and based in Vancouver, B.C., the Disability Foundation strives to support people with physical disabilities by supporting accessible programs to enjoy outdoor activities, make social connections, and access personalized adapted devices. With the support of our well-rounded, multi-disciplinary board members, our leadership team has experienced a great deal of success in empowering the disability community to re-imagine what is possible.

About the ConnecTra Society: Formed in 1999 by Vancouver tetraplegic Sam Sullivan, the ConnecTra Society is a connecting agency linking people with physical disabilities to activities and programs that will, over time, allow them to grow, gain confidence and become increasingly more active and involved in community life. We aim to get all people with significant disabilities living in British Columbia as socially active and engaged as possible through our workshops and other resources.
