Free day long workshop on preparing your family, home and neighborhood against the risks of mountain living, from wildfires and earthquakes to accidents and injuries. Sponsored by South Skyline Emergency Preparedness Organization and South Skyline FireSafe Council.
In depth sessions: Practical skills you can use and ideas you can act on, taught by expert practitioners:
- Learn the latest techniques and requirements from CalFire to harden and defend your Home, work on your defensible space, and dispose of your brush afterwards.
- Get latest info on home insurance issues and what to do if you are cancelled.
- Stop-The-Bleed Training – get certified
- Neighborhood Emergency Organization and Communication
- MacGyver Medicine
- Learn how to use a fire extinguisher and use cribbing to free a trapped person
- Meet with United Policyholders, Midpeninsula Open Space, San Mateo Medical Reserve Corps, Brush Hog, South Skyline Fire and Rescue and more!
Lunch provided to attendees and presenters. Bring water bottle for refills.
