2024 Chili Cook-Off and New Years CelebrationChili cook-off rules:
-This is a cook-off, therefore the chili must be made on site.
-A minimum of 1 Gallon of chili must be made
-There is a $20 entry fee per team
-While there is electricity, propane burners are highly recommended. However, go ahead and bring your hot-plates, insta pots, and crockpots.
-Burners start at 1:00pm
-Set up and prep is allowed all the way until start time.
-4:00pm Burners stop and judging will promptly begin. (don't want to serve the judges cold chili)
-Judges will score each chili in a ranking order. This will be a blind tasting. Each cook will receive a number. That number will be placed on the bottom of you bowls to be served to the judges.
Last year judges needed to remove all toppings and garnishes from the chili in order to judge and taste accordingly. please remember this when prepping your bowls for the runner to serve.
There will be a spectator fee of 5$ This will include your ability to try and taste all of the chili prepared. This will also allow you to vote for the "peoples" choice.
There will also be an open mat for the spectator price.
After all the results are tallied and a winner is declared, then we shall enjoy an evening of movie night and New years celebration.
We're going to be showing the 1985 Wrestling Classic "Vision Quest" on the big screen and possibly one more movie TBD
