About this Event

The Child Advocacy Studies (CAST) Program of Zero Abuse Project is hosting its 2nd Annual FREE virtual seminar this October!

Whether you're an institution interested in implementing CAST to educate students about child maltreatment prevention or investigation, or a current CAST faculty member seeking fresh resources to enrich your program, you're in for a treat! Gain access to a wealth of resources and invaluable insights to elevate the education of future frontline professionals in child protection and prevention at your postsecondary institution.
Event Highlights:
We are excited to launch three NEW resources that aim to increase competency and deepen understanding in child abuse prevention and protection:
- CAST Responsive Education and Training Engagement (CREATE): An expansion to traditional CAST coursework to build or enhance continuing education programs for regional training of current frontline professionals on five emerging child maltreatment topics.
- CAST Learner Enhancement (CASTLE): CAST concepts distilled into high-impact, modular offerings. We will offer over a dozen modules for alternative postsecondary education, aimed at increasing training opportunities on child abuse prevention and response concepts within novel credentialing pathways (e.g., badges, microcredentials).
- Simulation Hub for Experiential Learning (SHEL): At the heart of experiential learning, SHEL is an online virtual learning environment for CAST faculty to conduct problem-based learning (PBL) experiential learning activities with undergraduate and graduate CAST students, allowing them to master their knowledge and skills before entering the workforce.
Who Should Attend:
- Existing CAST Faculty
- State agencies with initiatives that support child maltreatment education
- Child Advocacy Center (CAC) professionals
- Prospective CAST instructors and program administrators
- Interested parties seeking to learn more about the CAST program and child maltreatment training for higher education
