This annual charity and non-profit seminar covers essential updates and topics for charities and non-profit organizations. Whether you are a board member, volunteer, employee, member, or supporter of a charity or non-profit, you will not want to miss this seminar as it provides useful updates on legal and accounting information relating to charities and non-profits, and is a great opportunity to meaningfully engage and connect with other people in the sector.

About Our Guest Speaker Diane Stone CPA, CA
Diane joined HUB International in 2022 to lead the Education Practice in Canada after almost 20 years in financial leadership roles in the nonprofit sector in both Canada and overseas. Previously, she was the Director of Finance and Business Operations at Pacific Academy and the American School of Dubai. She is also a member of a consortium providing consulting services to international schools. She has served on the boards of the Canadian Centre for Christian Charites, ChildCare International Society, Canadian Institute of Linguistics and Black Forest Academy.
Diane and her husband Jamie enjoy traveling and spoiling Finley, their miniature poodle.

Risk Management in Canadian Charities: Understanding and Mitigating Risks
In this session we will address some of the emerging risks facing Canadian charitable organizations. These risks can impact the financial stability and reputation of the organization and its ability to achieve its mission. Examples of such risks include cyber threats, international travel and human resource challenges. Attendees will leave with tools to identify risks in their organizations as well as guidelines and best practices to mitigate and transfer these risks.
