DMC Australia in conjunction with DJ City presents
The 2024 Australian DMC DJ Championships
The longest running Worldwide DJ Competition “The DMC World DJ Championships” is
back for 2024 and this year we introduce the NEW “Open Format Category” where any
equipment (CDJs / Controllers/ Effects) will be allowed! This category is aimed at the Club
DJ and promises to be a crowd pleaser. Competitors have to win over the judges as well as
the crowd with a 12min set mixing multiple genres and styles creatively. We are going back
to the roots with the category and hopefully open doors for DJs of all different genres to
compete in the DMC. There is already hype for this category at the World Finals and we are
very excited to be launching it down under. Our popular classic 6 min category will run as
per usual and will cater to the dedicated Turntablist / Scratch DJs.
DMC will be touring the country with Heats in every major state throughout this August and
September. All state champs will land in Melbourne to battle it out at the National Finals
Saturday on the 14th September at the iconic Revolver, and the lucky winners (from both
categories) will travel to Paris for the World Finals on 18th October. Headlining the finals is
the 3 X World Champ JFB (UK) who will also be head judge of the 2 categories on the night.
JFB is an international award-winning UK based DJ. He has won the UK DMC
Championships in 2007, 2011, 2015 and has taken home 3 titles in 2021 DMC’s as – World Champion, World Beat Juggling Champion, and World DJ Team Champions with DJ Angelo.
JFB is also the Red Bull Thre3style European Wildcard Champion.
He has performed at international festivals such as Shambhala (Canada), Rainbow Serpent, Earth Frequency, Rabbits Eat Lettuce (Australia) and Wicked Summer Fest (Italy).
Production wise, JFB has millions of plays on Spotify and Soundcloud with releases and
compilations on labels including: Hospital records, Never Say Die, UKF, Ministry Of Sound,
Rat Records, Skint Records, Freshly Squeezed, Hot Cakes, Jungle Cakes, Ghetto Funk &
more…
