Cost is $20 for kits and in-person activities. Payment is due in full by November 14, 2024. Cash, Check, or Card payments available. Make checks payable to VCE-Dinwiddie. There is a $50 returned check fee. A link for the credit card payment option will be sent after the spot is reserved.
Payments can be dropped off at the Dinwiddie Extension Office (13915-A Boydton Plank Road, Dinwiddie, VA 23841) between 8AM and 4:30PM or left in the drop box at the entrance of the building when the office is closed. For drop box payments, leave in an envelope with the participants' names and program name. ** Please note our office is NOT located at the Eastside Enhancement Center/Parks and Rec Building, but that is where the in-person event occurs.
We prefer that payments are not mailed due to the delays with USPS. Payments not received on time will result in cancellation. Products must be purchased ahead of time, and therefore no late payments will be accepted and no refunds given.
REMINDERS
• Please arrive no earlier than 10 minutes before the workshop starts and no later than 10 minutes after the start time. We need time to set up and will not let participants in the room until that time.
• If you have not completed the additional information survey that was sent separately, you should have received an email yesterday to complete it. Failure to complete this additional survey will result in a slower check in time and your child/children will be assigned a table by age group.
• You may bring your own rolling pin and apron if you choose to…it can be messy! All other materials are provided. BUT don’t forget your items when you leave!
• I HIGHLY recommend that parents bring a sturdy pan at pickup to set the pies in for transportation. The pies can leak with sticky juice and are sometimes heavy enough to cause the tin pan to bend.
• When cooking, I recommend again using a pan underneath the tin pan to avoid it bending and spilling hot, sticky liquids on yourself or in your oven (learned from experience). Your child/children will receive a slip at the workshop on how to cook the pie, but in case it gets lost: Refrigerate overnight, and bake at 425 degrees for 35 minutes. To keep the outer crust from burning, cover the outer portion of the crust with tinfoil for the first 20 minutes, then remove.
