Real World Program Improvements Realized via AI (Microsoft)

During the 2023 APHSA ISM conference Microsoft, Redmane, and YoungWilliams showcased the then emerging potential for generative AI to improve HHS outcomes, and provided formative ideas regarding how Azure OpenAI can improve SNAP and protective services program delivery. During this 2024 ISM event this team is reconvening to show the significant progress that has been made with these solutions. We’ll also showcase how these solutions are being used with specific customers including the States of Louisiana and Florida.
Leveraging Emerging Technologies to Alleviate Workforce Challenges and Improve Outcomes

This workshop will focus on the efforts of the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) to create and implement innovative technology solutions to overcome ongoing workforce challenges while improving outcomes for Florida’s children, youth, and families. DCF and RedMane partnered to implement a Natural Language Processing and Generative Artificial Intelligence Solution, informed by Florida’s rules and regulations, to review the narrative description of incidents of child/vulnerable adult abuse, neglect, and /or exploitation reported through the established online web portal. Representatives from both DCF and RedMane will share real-world data, experiences, and processes they are employing to incorporate innovative approaches to address assessed needs.
