About this Event
Adopt a Stream Program
Join our Adopt a Stream Program to collect water quality data from a stream site near you!
Volunteers will be assigned to teams that will collect aquatic insects from stream sites on a continuing basis. They will "adopt" 1-2 stream sites and commit to monitoring at these locations in the fall each year. This program is for community members who have previously participated in a stream monitoring event and are familiar with the protocols. They will meet directly in the field at their assigned stream sites. All equipment will be provided, though volunteers should dress for the weather and bring a water bottle.
Dates for the Adopt a Stream Program will be set based on the availability of team members. Teams should plan to complete collection at their sites during the month of October. Each site requires a time commitment of 1.5-2 hours.
