About this Event

The Australian Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry is hosting virtual information sessions for pre-border treatment providers and related industry in preparation for the 2024-2025 Brown marmorated stink bug (BMSB) risk season.

Our BMSB seasonal measures will apply to targeted goods manufactured in or shipped from target risk countries, that have been shipped between 1 September 2024 and 30 April 2025 (inclusive), and to vessels that berth, load, or tranship from target risk countries within the same period.

Our information sessions will include the following topics:

· Seasonal measures for the 2024-2025 BMSB risk season.

· AusTreat, our new pre-border biosecurity treatment providers scheme which has replaced the Offshore BMSB Treatment Providers scheme, including tips for registration.

· Compliance verification activities, and observations from the 2023-2024 risk season.

· How to use the treatment certificate lodgement portal, including tips for best practice.

Our colleagues from New Zealand’s Ministry for Primary Industries will also outline their seasonal measures for the upcoming season and we will both be available to answer your questions at the end of each session.

Click ‘reserve a spot’ on this page to receive a free ticket registering your attendance for our session at 7am AEST on Thursday 8 August 2024 (2pm PDT / 5pm EDT Wednesday 7 August 2024). If you are unable to attend this session, you are also welcome to join our session at at 5pm AEST (9am CEST / 3pm SGT/CST/PHT) on Tuesday 6 August 2024.

The sessions will be held on Microsoft Teams Live, and we will send ticket holders an email containing the link to join the Microsoft Teams Live event for their session. Please note that while the presented information will be most relevant for treatment providers and related industry, attendance at either session is open to all. We encourage treatment providers to share this registration link with their customers and supply chain partners to encourage maximum participation at the sessions.

Please note that the sessions will be presented in English and we will be hosting separate sessions to prepare Australian onshore industry for the upcoming BMSB risk season.
