Join us for Summer Gardening 101 as we discuss hot topics in gardening! Topics include everything from vegetable gardening to microgreens!
About this Event

UF/IFAS Marion County Extension is pleased to announce the 2023 Summer Gardening 101 ten-week program class line-up! Starting 5/30/23 and going every Tuesday evening until 8/8/23, we will be providing classes on hot topics in horticulture. Classes will meet from 5:30pm-7:30pm weekly. For only $35, participants can choose any five classes they would like to attend. Couples, or pairs, can receive a discount by registering together for $50, but they must attend the same five classes together. NOTE: Classes cap off at 25 participants. After purchasing your ticket, you must call UF/IFAS Marion County Extension to choose your five classes before 5/30/23. M-F, 8am-5pm, 352-671-8400.

- Tuesday, June 6th – Home Hydroponics – Jeremy Rhoden, Urban Horticulture Agent

- Tuesday, June 13th – Growing Onions & Garlic (Alliums) in Florida – Dianne Busch, Master Gardener Volunteer

- Tuesday, June 20th – Native Plants for your Landscapes - Amanda Marek, Florida-Friendly Landscape Agent

- Tuesday, June 27th - Save it Now, Savor it Later (Fruit and Vegetable Preservation) - Rebecca Elliott, Family and Consumer Sciences Agent

- Tuesday, July 11th - Microirrigation 101 - Gabriel Vacari, Water Resources Agent

- Tuesday, July 18th – Pollinator Gardening - Lauren Paparone, Master Gardener Volunteer

- Tuesday, July 25th – Herb Gardening – Sheena Schlegel, Master Gardener Volunteer

- Tuesday, August 1st - Microgreens - Jeremy Rhoden, Urban Horticulture Agent

- Tuesday, August 8th – Growing Strawberries – Audrey Edwards, Master Gardener Volunteer
