Clinical Controversies in Cervical Spine Surgery: Degenerative to Deformity
About this Event

Join world-renowned spine faculty from HSS and beyond as they address clinical controversies in cervical spine surgery and present evidence-based guidance on topics including: treatment of cervical infections, classifications of cervical deformities, management of ossification of posterior longitudinal ligament, approaches for myelopathy, and expanded indications for cervical disc replacement.

Faculty will present cervical spine cases to a panel of experts to illustrate controversies related to treatment of cervical spine disorders, degenerative or deformity. Expert panel will debate and come up with a consensus-based treatment plan based on best evidence. A consensus paper will be published at a future issue of the HSS Journal.

Target Audience | This activity is targeted to spine surgeons, non-operative spine and sports physicians, and advanced practice providers. Residents, fellows and medical students may also benefit from this activity.

About This Course | This course is named in honor of David B. Levine, MD, Orthopaedic Surgeon Emeritus at Hospital for Special Surgery. A former Chief of the Scoliosis Service (1967–1995), Dr. Levine specialized in scoliosis and care of the spine at HSS for over 30 years. He is Director Emeritus of both the Alumni Affairs and the Archives Committees. The David B. Levine, MD, Chair in Scoliosis is established in his honor.
