About this Event
The gardens of Dumbarton Oaks are an oasis within the city. Designed by renowned landscape gardener Beatrix Farrand in collaboration with Mildred Bliss, the garden extends over ten acres of terraced gardens and vistas, orchards, and kitchen gardens. Farrand and Bliss worked together for almost thirty years to achieve their vision of the garden which includes many fine decorative ornaments—benches, gates, finials, and sculptures.
Entry requires a pre-purchased ticket. No tickets are sold at the gate. A daily ticket allows entry any time between 2:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. The gardens close at 6:00 p.m.
