Wells Fargo's "Hands On Banking"100 Black Men of Philadelphia, Inc. is committed to the intellectual development of the youth and economic empowerment of the African-American community. Improving the financial education of the youth at an early age will economically empower individual. families, whole communities, and entire regions to succeed financially.
HANDS ON BANKING (6th - 12th grades) Students participating in this program will:
- a. Have mentoring services provided that focus on the Economic Empowerment pillar
- b. Increase their understanding of financial literacy and key terms
- c. Understand the importance of making good financial choices
- d. Interact with those in the field of finance and banking
- e. Shark Tank Business Pitch Competition: Youth will be tasked to create a startup business model. The Idea Lab will be modeled off the hit series, Shark Tank. Youth will determine the consumer needs of their community and create a business model to address these needs. Youth will be challenged to become social Entrepreneurs. (LOCAL CASH PRIZES! & National Savings Account Match to $100 for up to 15 youth)
