The 2022 western & central dressage championships will offer $24,500 in prize money over 12 championship divisions, Barrel Racing, Dressage, Western Dressage, Western Pleasure, Ranch Riding, Competitive Trail, and a Western Halter Championship.Qualifying: To qualify for the Championships, a T.I.P. eligible Thoroughbred must (1) participate in a show offering T.I.P. high point awards, classes or divisions beginning August 1, 2021, through August 15, 2022 (qualifying shows would include the 2021 T.I.P. Championships); or (2) be entered in the 2022 Thoroughbred Makeover or have participated in the 2021 Mega Makeover; or (3) have participated in the 2021 T.I.P. Performance Awards; or (4) be accepted through a 2022 Hardship Request. Virtual or online horse shows do not count for qualification.
i. All qualifications must be in the applicable discipline. To qualify, horses can be shown in any classes or divisions at the show offering T.I.P. awards in the relevant discipline.
ii. Horses shown at a horse trial or combined test may also qualify for the Dressage Championships through their dressage phase.
iii. All Thoroughbreds must have a T.I.P. Number to qualify.
iv. All qualified horses may also participate in the Halter Championships (no separate in-hand qualification required).
