The Max S. Baucus Institute's Department of Public Administration and Policy is hosting its fourth annual Public Service Academy on August 11 & 12, 2022. The Public Service Academy is open to any public or nonprofit sector employee with the goal to advance skills for your current profession. Participants will learn from leading experts in the field.

General Registration*: General $220
University of Montana students and employees*: $150
Early Bird rate (by June 6)*: $150
Group Rate*: Register ten (10) or more attendees to receive the group rate of $130 per person.

The University of Montana’s Department of Public Administration and Policy and Baucus Institute invite your department/agency/program to join a ‘pitch competition’ in honor of Ambassador Max Baucus’s commitment to public service. He believes public service “is the highest calling,” and appreciates innovative thinking to continue to solve public and nonprofit sector problems.
The Baucus Innovation Challenge is an annual event that highlights exciting new strategies for advancing knowledge and/or improving programmatic efficiency or effectiveness.
- A chance to win a $500 award to launch or further develop your innovation
TO APPLY
You must register as a participant for the PSA 2022. A representative from a public sector program/agency/department must:
- Upload and submit your organizations 3-4 minute video using this link that creatively explains how you have developed an innovative approach to enhance public service, address an unmet need, advance understanding in the field, and/or improve programmatic efficiency or effectiveness.
- Your video will be played at the in-person event and participants will view and vote.

What is the refund policy?
A full refund is available if the cancellation is received by July 26, 2022.
What do the modules provide?
Each module provides 60-90 minutes of training from expert(s), resource guide, and COVID-19 safe interaction.

Yes, we have a discounted rate on rooms at DoubleTree by Hilton. The courtesy rooms are limited and this offer ends July 27 2022.

Where do I park?
On-campus parking is available and we recommend visitors park in the P lot on the north side of campus (see parking map here).
We will provide pre-paid day parking passes at the check-in table in ALI, or if you prefer not to walk back to your car, you can purchase the day pass in advance for $3.50 using the University of Montana's parking portal: https://www.umt.edu/police/parking/Parking%20Information/guest-permit-guide Please note that the neighborhood immediately surrounding the University does not allow street parking during business hours for non-residents.
