In this week-long camp, students discover and develop science, math, engineering, and programming skills through designing, building, and programming a VEX robot. This camp takes students through a project-based challenge, culminating in a fun and interactive competition with peers where students get to put their creations to the test.
Week 4’s Girl Powered camp is exclusively for girls, with all-female camp staff. This camp is catered towards students with little to no VEX IQ experience, providing them with a more structured curriculum and more instruction when it comes to the designing, building, and programming of their robot.
This session is hosted in Room M-1.
Camp counselors from the World Champion Citrus Circuits Robotics team who are experienced with VEX will work one-on-one with students to help their designing and programming process.
Due to the limited camp availability, only children entering grades 4th through 8th are eligible. Students above 8th grade are encouraged to apply for the high school robotics team, Citrus Circuits. At this time, we are not allowing campers to sign up for more than one week of camp over the summer. It is possible that a student may be pulled from a waitlist and added to a second camp if they indicate they are interested in the camp in the order form, and that there are no other first-time campers on the waitlist.
A limited number of half and full scholarships are available that must be applied for and approved. See below for scholarship instructions.
