About this Event
The Australasian Association of Fire Investigators (AAFI) Conference will be the first held since Covid-19 and represents a chance for professionals from across the wide area of fire investigation to come together for a high-quality conference and networking event.
The conference theme Fire Investigation: Multi Agency Cooperation, Learning from the Past, Looking to the Future will look at advancements in recent years in fire investigation and how Covid-19 has influenced the way we work.
An exciting program has been developed by industry representatives. Conference speakers will examine the challenges facing those involved in fire investigation and look at the best practices across the industry. Leading experts from different sectors will present information on the latest topics surrounding fire investigation.
The conference will feature two USA fire investigation experts Barry Grimm and Joe Herzberg. They will be able to share with attendees' developments in the USA including in the areas of electric vehicles, major crime investigations and analysing forensic evidence.
The conference is a unique opportunity to hear from leading experts and liaise with others involved in the fire investigation profession

The Format will be a 2 day Conference(3-4 November) with informal arrival drinks on Wednesday, 2 November and a Conference Dinner on 3 November. Cancellation Policy
In the event of a registrant's inability to attend, a substitute delegate is welcome.Substitutions can be made up to seven (7) days prior to the event.
Alternatively a full refund, less 25% service charge will be made for cancellations advised by letter or email up to twenty-one (21) days prior to the event. Regrettably, no refunds can be made after this time
Program Changes
If necessary the organising committee reserves the right to alter the program without prior notification to delegates
Workshop
An IAAI 3 day Motor Vehicle Fire Investigation workshop at the QFES facility at Whyte Island, Brisbane has been conveniently scheduled prior to the conference from the 31 October 2022 to 2 November 2022.
The workshop is being conducted by the International Association of Arson Investigators and will be limited to 36 attendees.
