The school will begin at 8:00 am on Monday August 16th. The school concludes no later than 11:30 am on Friday August 20th.
IPT's Real Property Tax School focuses on the fundamental real property valuation principles, concepts and technical skills essential in the field of real property taxation. This school is designed for property tax professionals who have a basic understanding of real property valuation principles. The school will provide attendees with an in-depth curriculum that has real-world applications.
This school provides advanced studies into many topics including the three approaches to value and a beginning-to-end overview of the real property tax valuation process. Other topics covered include sales ratio studies; mass appraisal; direct and yield capitalization techniques; discounted cash flow models; assessor, appeal agency and court interactions; and building cost estimates and depreciation allowances.
For successful completion of this program, students must attend the mandatory one-hour ethics session, and obtain a comprehensive 70% or higher on the examination processes.
Prerequisite: Individuals must have successfully completed IPT’s Property Tax School or passed the Property Tax Competency Challenge Exam in order to attend. Successfully completing the Real Property Tax School is one of the mandatory requirements for the CMI Property Tax designation. This school is not eligible to be challenged.
