Join us to meet Ysabella Yturralde, this year's Old Spanish Days Spirit of Fiesta! “I really think it’s important to bring optimism and spirit. I think my job is to embody what the Fiesta is about and bring people together.”
Ysabella Grace Yturralde is a 16 year old junior at San Marcos High School and attends the Accelerated Academic Program of Leadership and Enrichment. She works diligently maintaining a 4.5 GPA and volunteering with the Santa Barbara Assistance League.
Ysabella has a true passion for flamenco. She is moved by the music, the dance and bringing joy to those around her. “I was with my mom at a performance at La Cumbre Plaza,” Ysabella said. “I saw the Junior Spirit of Fiesta dancing in white. I was absolutely mesmerized by her. I told my mom, ‘I want to be the girl in white! I want to dance!'” The next day she signed up with Linda Vega Dance Studio where she studied for 11 years, now with Maria Bermudez Flamenco Performing Arts Studio.
Another delight for Ysabella has been teaching the 3-7 year olds at the Maria Bermudez Flamenco Arts Studio for the past four years. In her free time, she loves leisure at the beach with friends and family.
