Tours: Brackish Groundwater National Desalination Facility
Tuesday Nov 30 - Afternoon tour (3-5pm MT)
Friday Dec 3 - Morning tour (9-10:30am MT)
Alamogordo, NM
These have been set up before and after the Membership Meeting so participants can tour BGNDRF on their way to or on their way home following the Membership Meeting. These will be walking tours of brackish water and produced water handling and treatment capabilities. There will be some produced water on site potentially undergoing treatment. Tour participants will need to register for the tours on the website and will have to follow Bureau of Reclamation protocol for COVID, which we will provide.

Wednesday Dec 1 – Morning tour (8:30-11:30am MT)
Thursday Dec 2 – Afternoon (3:30-5:00pm MT)
These have been set up before and after the Membership Meeting so participants can tour the main Campus WET, desalination, chemical analysis, green house laboratories. Participants will need to register on our website so we can manage the size of tour groups and the number.
Wednesday - Dec 1 NM Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum - 9am-5pm MT
Morning - Tour of NMSU Research Lab Facility
Membership meeting starts at 1:00 pm MT at NM Farm and Ranch Museum. Sign in starts at 11:30 pm with lunch provided.
Afternoon - Welcome by NMSU Chancellor, overview of efforts in past year, Panel
Sessions on 2021 Task Committee efforts including participants from industry, academia, and US EPA.
Evening - Social function and dinner 6-8 pm at La Posta De Mesilla Restaurant in Old Mesilla, 2 mi west of NMSU main Campus. Historic Butterfield Stage Stop and on the plaza near the New Mexico and Arizona Territorial Capitol building. (Registration required, $25/person)
Thursday - Dec 2 NM Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum - 8am - 4 pm MT
Morning - NMED discussion of interim guidance on pilot testing in 2022, plus panel sessions on 2021 Tasks Committee efforts, including treatment technology discussions and evaluations.
Lunch - Presentation by Office of the State Engineer on considering of climate impacts in developing the 50-year water plan, and the role of non-traditional water resources.
Afternoon - GAB Breakout, Panel session on Public Outreach efforts, Discussion of OCD emerging regulatory activities and impacts on produced water reuse, discussion of a national WRAP produced water coordinating council of state produced water research leads.
