About this Event

UPDATE (8/4/21) - Proof of full COVID Vaccination will be required for all in-person attendees at the Convention. Exceptions will be made for those who cannot receive the vaccine due to medical conditions only. If you have a medical condition that prohibits you from receiving the vaccine, a letter from a physician on their letterhead must be provided. Details on the individual condition are not required, but the letter must be from a physician that you are unable to receive the vaccine due to medical issues. Also, those with the medical exception will be required to provide proof of a negative test no older than 72 hours prior to arrival.

Masks will be required in all convention venues. Masks (multiple) will be provided on-site to all attendees. Exceptions will be made for convention speakers while they are presenting during workshops or plenary sessions. Please note that items like gaiters, scarves, face shields, and kerchiefs will not be considered masks.

UPDATE (7/30/21) - Onsite registration is no longer available. As we approach the upcoming Annual Convention, the National Community Action Partnership's Board of Directors have affirmed that the safety of our member agencies is our top priority. As a result, with the delta variant numbers growing in the U.S. and raised concerns around the ease of transmission, onsite registration is closed as of July 30, 2021.

ANNUAL CONVENTION

The Partnership’s Annual Convention is the largest gathering of regional, state, and local Community Action practitioners in the United States, drawing more than 1,000 attendees each year. During this hybrid (onsite and virtual) convention, we will come together in person and online to showcase Community Action's strengths, strategies, and achievements. We’ll also share our best practices in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, advocacy, management, program implementation, and capacity building. There is change ahead of us—for the better—as Community Action evolves, reinvents, and continues to achieve excellence.

Member prices are for attendees employed by agencies/organizations that are paid members of NCAP for 2021. To check the membership status of your agency/organization, please email [email protected]

If NCAP is unable to hold the convention in-person, the event will become virtual only and NCAP will adhere to the virtual event pricing.

To comply with federal, state, and local health guidelines related to in-person gathering registration is on a first come, first served basis.

Submission of this registration implies a commitment to adhere to NCAP's COVID-19 Code of Conduct below.

To keep myself, fellow attendees, staff, and our communities safe and comfortable, I agree to adhere to the following protocols and behaviors as part of my participation in NCAP’s Annual Convention:

Before the Event

I will follow the relevant guidance provided by the CDC, my local authorities, Boston local authorities, , and NCAP. I understand this may include proof of a negative COVID-19 test, proof of vaccination, and/or quarantine upon arrival. I will evaluate my own health, as well as that of the people I am in close contact with, and contact NCAP if I have any concerns. I will stay home if I feel sick.

During the Event

I will follow all guidelines provided by the CDC, my local authorities, Boston local authorities, Massachusetts state authorities, the hotel, and NCAP. I will engage in everyday preventative actions recommended by the CDC including washing hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds and/or washing hands often with an alcohol-based sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol; avoiding touching eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands; covering my nose and mouth when coughing or sneezing; throw used tissues in the trash.

I will clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe. I will maintain social distancing (6 ft apart) whenever possible. I will wear a mask covering both my nose and mouth at all times unless actively eating or drinking. I will sign-in to all sessions and activities I attend for contact tracing purposes. I agree to temperature checks before entering the meetings space. I agree to alert the Partnership if you begin to feel unwell during the event. I will respect the personal space and boundaries of other attendees, staff, and exhibitors.

After the Event

I will contact the Partnership if I test positive for COVID-19 in the 14 days following the event. In the event I do not comply with COVID-19 Code of Conduct, I understand that my continued participation at the Annual Convention will be at the discretion of NCAP.

COVID-19 WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY:

Warning, Acknowledgement, and Assumption of Risk

NCAP is taking enhanced health and safety measures—for you, other attendees, exhibitors, and staff. However, an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death.

By submitting this registration, you acknowledge that participation in the NCAP Annual Convention brings some risk of being exposed to or contracting COVID-19 and that you fully assume and accept such risk in order to attend the Convention.

You further agree to follow the NCAP COVID-19 Code of Conduct and all posted instructions while participating onsite in the Annual Convention and acknowledge that any failure to follow such protocols shall constitute sufficient grounds to be excluded by NCAP from attending the Convention.

Waiver and Release

As a condition of your participation in this convention, and to the fullest extent permitted under appliable law, you expressly waive any rights against, and release and hold harmless, NCAP and any of its officers, employees, affiliates, contractors, agents, heirs, legal successors, and assigns (collectively “NCAP Releasees”) from and against any and all claims, suits, demands, losses, damages, expenses, or liability of whatever kind or nature (collectively “covered liability”), under any theory of law or equity, that you, your heirs, assignees, next of kin, or legally designated or appointed representatives may have arising from or as a result of your presence at the convention premises, including but not limited to any such covered liability related to or arising out of any illness, injury, or death associated with infection of COVID-19 or complications, symptoms, or other effects resulting from my contracting COVID-19 and/or transmitting COVID-19 to any other person.

BY COMPLETING THE REGISTRATION FOR THIS EVENT, I ACKNOWLEDGE CAREFULLY READING AND FULLY UNDERSTANDING ALL PROVISIONS OF THIS WAIVER AND RELEASE AND FREELY AND KNOWINGLY ASSUMING THE RISKS AND WAIVING AND RELEASING THE RIGHTS DESCRIBED ABOVE.

I UNDERSTAND, AND IT IS MY EXPRESS INTENT, TO RELEASE THE NCAP RELEASEES FROM COVERED LIABILITY EVEN IF SUCH LIABILITY RESULTS FROM OR IS CAUSED BY THE SOLE OR CONTRIBUTORY OR ACTIVE OR PASSIVE NEGLIGENCE, STRICT LIABILITY, OR OTHER LEGAL FAULT OF NCAP OR ANY THIRD PARTY.

I ALSO UNDERSTAND AND AGREE THAT NCAP DOES NOT ASSUME ANY RESPONSIBILITY OR OBLIGATION TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL OR OTHER ASSISTANCE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO MEDICAL, HEALTH, OR DISABLITY ASSISTANCE IN THE EVENT OF INJURY OR ILLNESS TO MYSELF OR TO ANY OTHER PERSON.

COVID-19 DISCLOSURE: Given the ever-evolving COVID-19 situation, we are closely monitoring our ability to hold the convention in-person. Please consider delaying purchasing your flight and/or hotel accommodations until closer to the convention and familiarize yourself with the NCAP, Boston Marriott Copley Place Hotel, and airline change/cancellation policies.

If NCAP is unable to hold the convention in-person, the event will become virtual only and NCAP will adhere to the virtual event pricing.

To comply with federal, state, and local health guidelines related to in-person gathering registration is on a first come, first served basis.

IMAGE/AUDIO DISCLOSURE: Submission of this registration implies acknowledgement that NCAP may photograph, videotape, and/or audiotape attendees and materials throughout the convention.
