About this Event
With the pandemic this past year, we know that it has been difficult for many of us but we have supported each other and pulled through. We would like to take this year’s lantern event to remember those we have lost to COVID, to thank the essential workers who have helped us through these difficult times, and to celebrate the upcoming return back to normalcy. Although many things are opening back up, we have decided to remain cautious and we will be having a virtual event where attendees can decorate their lanterns safely at home, and showcase their designs and share their stories with the community online.
To participate in the event, please reserve your lantern kit on our Eventbrite page. The lantern kit includes an undecorated lantern on a wooden base. The lanterns are available for pick up at the Echo Park Rec Center at the dates and times listed below. During pick up, please show your Eventbrite confirmation number or barcode. Showcase your decorated lanterns on Instagram with the hashtag #lotus2021and be sure to include your story and message in the caption! We will compile a selection of the posts with the most likes and share it with the community at the LA Lotus Festival. So, get your friends and family to like and join in on the fun!
