The Lakeland Rotary Club is proud to announce that the 2021 Lakeland Rotary 4th Annual Golf Tournament will take place on October 22, 2021 at the Club at Eaglebrooke. The Lakeland Rotary Club is committed to putting on one of the premier golf events in Polk County, and we hope that you will come and join us.The COVID-19 crisis has left many Polk County families in dire financial straits. Additionally, the resulting shift to online learning has exposed the digital divide that exists within our community. Many parents and students lack the necessary equipment to thrive in an online learning environment. So, the proceeds from the this year’s tournament will be used to help support KNOW AND GROW: POLK COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS.
KNOW AND GROW is the latest initiative spearheaded by Synced for Students, a Polk Vision/PCPS partnership created in 2020 to address technological inequity within Polk County. The program’s goal is to give computers to underprivileged students in Polk County, so that they are able to participate in online learning and improve their overall computer skills.
This year’s tournament format will be a four-person scramble, and the winning team will enjoy a two-night stay and two-rounds of golf at a Mission Inn Golf Resort.
The entry fee is $175 per person, and this includes lunch and steak dinner, as well as, beer, water and soft drinks on the course. We will also be selling raffle tickets for great prizes and will have a silent auction at the dinner. Side contests include Longest Drive, Closest to the Pin, Hole in One for $10,000 sponsored by Heacock Insurance, and a Putting Contest with a chance to win $5,000 sponsored by Core Wealth Advisors.
