About this Event

The SC Strawberry Festival, in partnership with LOOM Coworking Community, Gallery & Event Space, is showcasing the amazing artistic talents of the youth in our community. We invite area public, private, and home-schooled elementary, middle school, and high school students to submit their artwork to the contest, illustrating

“Love Where You Live … during Strawberry Season”.

ARTWORK GUIDELINES

Competition is open to all Fort Mill K-12 students

Artwork must be 12” x 18” or smaller (1 piece only please)

All subject matter must include strawberries in some manner, context or form

Style is up to the Artist Mediums must be:

Elementary Division: crayons, markers, colored pencils or paint

Middle School Division: markers, colored pencils or paint

High School Division: markers, colored pencils, paint or digital


SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Artwork should be delivered to LOOM Coworking Community, Gallery & Event Space (120 Academy Street in Downtown Fort Mill) beginning MONDAY, APRIL 12th until FRIDAY, APRIL 16th from 9am - 4pm

Teachers may deliver student work in bulk with notice

Final deadline is FRIDAY, APRIL 16th at 4pm

Submissions must include the ATTACHED ENTRY FORM, ATTACHED TO THE BACK OF ARTWORK AND PRINTED LEGIBLY


SELECTION AND AWARDS

Works will be juried by SC Strawberry Festival Judges

Winners will be notified via email no later than Monday, April 26, 2021

All art will be viewable Monday, April 26 through Friday, April 30 from 9am - 4pm at The Studios@LOOM (118 Academy St.)

Winners will be recognized at a special Open House on Wednesday, April 28 from 5pm-8pm

Also on view during viewing week and Open House, professional works from abstract artists Mary Zio and Rebecca Ethier

All work (selected and not selected) will be available for pickup Monday, May 3rd from 9am - 4pm at The Studios@LOOM (118 Academy St.)

Teachers may pick up student work in bulk May 3rd with notice

Any work not picked up May 3rd will be taken to the Town offices on Tom Hall Street

Upper level winners may be invited to have their work remain at The Studios@LOOM for an extended summer exhibit

FIRST PLACE (ALL DIVISIONS)

• $100 Michael’s gift card

• Two tickets to a local attraction

SECOND PLACE (ALL DIVISIONS)

• $50 Michael’s gift card

• Two tickets to a local attraction

THIRD PLACE (ALL DIVISIONS)

• $25 Michael’s gift card

• Two tickets to a local attraction
